Hello:
I have recently discovered that my Great Great Grandfather was born in the Sidmouth area. He was William Giles Lucas (May 1823 to May 3, 1874). He left England in 1840 for Canada and eventually settled here in the United States.
Has anyone out there ever done any research on the Lucas family? If you can give me any help at all I would greatly appreciate it. My wife and I plan to visit Sidmouth in 2009 and we hope to do a little research before we come over. Thank you!
